The Natural History Museum of Serres, established in 1996, is located on the road to the Monastery of Timios Prodromos, approximately 1 km outside of Serres. The museum aims to inform visitors about the natural environment of the Serres region, with exhibits showcasing taxidermied birds and animals, as well as samples of local plants and minerals. The museum's collection is thematically divided, presenting animals, birds, plants, insects, and rocks primarily from the Serres area. Exhibits include samples of all insects in the area, as well as minerals and rocks from Greece and abroad. The main focus, however, is on the animals, birds, and vegetation of the region, with a large number of samples that introduce visitors to the ecosystems of Kerkini, Strymon, the plains, rivers, and other natural habitats of Serres.
