Discover more about OTE Tower

The OTE Tower, standing at 76 meters, is a prominent symbol of Thessaloniki's technological progress and modern aesthetics. Located within the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center (TIF), the tower has been an iconic landmark since its construction in 1970. Designed by architect Alexandros Anastasiadis, its unique circular design and considerable height offer breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the Thermaic Gulf. Initially built to serve as a telecommunications center, the OTE Tower facilitated the first black and white television broadcasts in Greece in 1971. It also supported antennas for an experimental mobile telephone network in the 1970s. A major renovation in 2005 modernized the tower, and today it continues to be used for telecommunications purposes by Cosmote, a Greek mobile phone network. Beyond its functional role, the OTE Tower has become a cultural and social venue, hosting various events and exhibitions, particularly during the annual Thessaloniki International Fair. The tower's most distinctive feature is the Skyline Café-Bar, a revolving restaurant on the top floor that completes a full rotation every hour, providing diners with a 360-degree view of Thessaloniki. From this vantage point, visitors can see the White Tower, the Upper Town, the Thermaic Gulf, and even Mount Olympus on a clear day.
