Limnionas Beach: A Central Evian Gem

Discover Limnionas Beach in Evia: Crystal waters, dramatic rock formations, and a serene escape on the Aegean coast.

4.5

Limnionas Beach is located on the east side of central Evia, near the villages of Agia Sofia and Myloi. The beach is approximately 50 km east of Chalkida. This Aegean beach is framed by mountain slopes, creating a large bay split into two distinct sections by a prominent rock. The rock is decorated with a Greek flag. The coastline features small pebbles and coarse, dark sand. The waters are crystal-clear and deep, making it ideal for snorkeling and exploring the diverse marine life. The beach is not organized, so visitors should bring their own sunbeds and umbrellas. However, there are a few taverns and cafes nearby. Free camping is popular, though not officially permitted. The northern part of the beach is known for its calm sea and caves. Parking is available along the beach road and in designated car parks.

Local tips

  • Bring your own beach umbrella and sunbeds, as the beach is unorganized and shade is limited.
  • Wear rock shoes to protect your feet from the hot, dark pebbles.
  • Arrive early, especially on weekends in July and August, to secure a parking spot.
  • Bring snorkeling gear to explore the interesting seabed with its rocks and fish.
