Clarke's Court Rum Distillery, situated in Woodlands, St. George's, has been a cornerstone of Grenada's rum industry for over 80 years. Founded in 1937, it stands as the island's largest and best-known distillery. The distillery's name is derived from Clarke's Court Bay in Woodlands. The name “Court” is believed to have originated from Dutch Colonists who seized the bay in the 1670s, while the name “Clarke” came from Gedney Clarke Esq., who acquired the lands in the 18th century. Clarke's Court rums were formerly known as Tradewinds and Red Neck. The distillery uses dark molasses and traditional secret methods passed down through generations of local distillers.
