Walking
From the cruise terminal or the center of St. George's, Fort George is accessible by foot. Be prepared for a steep uphill walk. You can either take the steps next to the Sendall Tunnel exit or walk along the main road towards the General Hospital. The walk offers scenic views of the town and harbor. Note that the climb can be strenuous.
Public Transport
Local buses operate from the bus terminal on Melville Street in St. George's to various parts of the island. Look for buses with a route that passes near the General Hospital, from where you can walk to Fort George. Bus fares range from EC$2.50 to EC$6.50, depending on the distance. Be aware that buses typically operate from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm, Monday to Saturday.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in St. George's, including at the cruise terminal. A taxi ride from the cruise terminal to Fort George is a short trip. Confirm the fare before starting your journey. A taxi from the cruise port to Grand Anse Beach (which is further away) is around €18 (XCD 50). Expect a slightly lower fare for the shorter trip to Fort George. There are no parking fees at the Fort.
