Established in 1944, it was the first co-educational secondary school in Grenada, marking a significant step forward in the country's educational landscape. The school's founding principal, Mr. S.H. Graham, started the first class with forty-one students in April 1945.SAASS has moved locations several times before settling into its permanent home in Telescope in 1978. The five-acre site was purchased with school funds, and the building was erected through private donations. Today, SAASS has a student body of over seven hundred and a teaching staff of over forty.Known as "The Sports School," SAASS has an enviable record in both academics and sports. The school has won both male and female titles at the Inter-Collegiate Games and has a record of twenty-one titles in the male category. Alumni of SAASS can be found in various professions around the world. The SAASS Alumni Association (New York Chapter) supports the school through donations.
