Discover Grenada's Christ of the Deep: An iconic underwater statue blending history, art, and stunning marine life in the Caribbean Sea.
The Christ of the Deep is an underwater statue off the coast of Grenada, depicting Jesus Christ with arms raised towards the surface. It serves as a memorial to those lost at sea and a symbol of peace and hope for divers and snorkelers who visit. The statue is a replica of the original 'Christ of the Abyss' in Italy and was gifted to Grenada in recognition of the islanders' bravery in rescuing the passengers and crew of the sunken Bianca C cruise ship.

Taxi
From St. George's, the capital of Grenada, taxis are readily available. A taxi ride to the Moliniere Bay area, where the Christ of the Deep is located, typically takes around 15-20 minutes. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey. Expect to pay around $25-30 USD for a one-way trip. The taxi will drop you off at a point where you can access the bay for boat tours or diving excursions.
Public Transport
Local buses, which are actually independently operated vans, are a more economical option. From St. George's, take a bus heading north towards Moliniere. Ask the driver to drop you off near the entrance to the Underwater Sculpture Park. Bus fares range from $2.50 XCD ($0.92 USD) to $6.50 XCD ($2.40 USD). From the drop-off point, it's a short walk to the bay where you can arrange a boat tour or diving trip to see the Christ of the Deep.
