The stadium became the 84th Test venue in 2002, hosting West Indies vs. New Zealand. Besides cricket, the stadium hosts football matches, carnival activities, and cultural events. The athletic stadium next to it hosts athletic and football events.The stadium has a capacity of approximately 15,000-20,000. Its ends are known as the River End and D'Arbeau End. The elongated oval shape gives it a unique baseball-like appearance. The venue offers a vibrant Caribbean atmosphere with local food and drinks available.
