Discover more about Ritidian Point

Ritidian Point, located on the northernmost tip of Guam, is a stunning national wildlife refuge offering a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Known in Chamorro as Puntan Litekyan, meaning 'a stirring place,' it features pristine white-sand beaches, dramatic limestone cliffs, and a diverse ecosystem. Archaeological research indicates that the area was once a thriving Chamorro village, predating Spanish arrival by over 600 years. Remnants of ancient latte stones and pottery fragments offer glimpses into Guam's rich indigenous past. The area also holds traces of a Spanish building from the 1670s-1680s. Today, Ritidian Point is a protected sanctuary for wildlife, including endangered green sea turtles and various bird species. Visitors can explore nature trails, observe native flora and fauna, and enjoy panoramic coastal views. The refuge is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. Swimming is possible, but caution is advised due to strong currents and the absence of lifeguards.
