Chamorro Night Market: A Taste of Guam

The Chamorro Night Market is a lively weekly event held every Wednesday night in Guam's capital city, Hagåtña. This bustling market offers an immersive experience into the island's Chamorro culture, drawing both locals and tourists alike. As the sun sets, the market comes alive with a kaleidoscope of colors, sounds, and enticing aromas. The market also features local produce grown by farmers. Beyond the food, the Chamorro Night Market is a hub for local artisans and craftsmen. The market is located near the Hagåtña Marina, Paseo de Susanna, Skinner Plaza, and the Guam Museum. The Chamorro Village, where the night market is held, has a rich history. In the 1960s and 70s, farmers gathered to sell their produce and livestock at what was known as the Guam Farmers Market. After Typhoon Pamela in 1976, it became the Guam Public Market, a focal point of island activity. In 1978, it was established as the Chamorro Village. The Wednesday Night Market was launched on April 8, 1998.
