    To reach Fort Soledad by car, start by heading south on Route 4 from Hagatna. Continue on Route 4 until you reach Route 2, then follow Route 2 south to Humåtak. Once in Humåtak, follow the signs for Fort Soledad. The fort is located off San Dionisio Drive, about a one-hour drive from Tumon. There is a parking area a short walk from the fort ruins. Car rental rates are comparable to the U.S.

    From the center of Sinajana, take a bus heading towards Humåtak. Confirm with the driver that the bus goes to Humåtak. The ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the nearest bus stop to Fort Soledad and walk south for a few minutes until you see the fort. Bus fares range from $0.50 - $1.50 for a single ride.

Fort Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, also known as Fort Soledad, is located near Humåtak on Guam, offering a captivating journey into the island's past. Constructed by the Spanish, likely between 1802 and 1819, it was the last of four fortifications built to protect the anchorage used by galleons traveling between Acapulco, Mexico, and the Philippines. Although treasure hunters and the ravages of time have taken their toll, restoration efforts in the mid-1990s and subsequent community projects have helped preserve this historic landmark.
