Sella Bay Overlook: Coastal Views and History

What is known today as Sella Bay was a village known as Sidya prior to Spanish colonization. During the Spanish-Chamorro Wars in the 17th century, Sidya sided with the Spanish against its neighbor Aty, which was located where Cetti Bay is today. One of the lasting remnants of that era is a Spanish bridge that still stands near Sella Bay.Visitors are drawn to the nearby Sella Bay Trail, which descends through trees to a stream. The trail then cuts across meadows with views of the coast and palm groves. The hike is moderately difficult and can be completed in under three hours. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The best time to visit is during the early morning or late afternoon when the sunlight casts a magical glow over the bay.
