To the south, Cocos Island is visible off the coast of Merizo village. The coastal area around Cetti Bay has been inhabited by the Chamorro people for approximately 3,000 years, with latte stones and pottery shards serving as evidence of their presence. The Spanish later established a road system that followed the coastline from Hagåtña, through Cetti Bay, to Umatac.Cetti Bay itself is listed on both the Guam and National Registers of Historic Places. While the bay is difficult to reach by foot, the overlook provides an accessible vantage point to appreciate the area's beauty and historical significance.
