Getting there

Driving

From Andersen Air Force Base, drive south on Route 15. The Pagat Cave Trailhead will be on your left, approximately 14 minutes from the back gate. There is a parking area available, but it can get crowded on weekends. Parking is free. Be sure not to leave any valuables in your vehicle.

Public Transport

From central Yigo, you can catch the GVB bus towards Yigo. Check the bus schedule in advance as service may be limited. Once in Yigo, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the trailhead. The taxi fare will vary depending on your starting location. Bus fare is approximately $3.00.

The Pagat Cave Trailhead invites you on a moderate 1.2-mile hike (one-way) through Guam's diverse landscape, blending natural beauty with historical significance. Located in Yigo, the trail descends approximately 400 feet, offering a rewarding experience for outdoor enthusiasts.As you embark on the trail, you'll traverse through a lush jungle, eventually reaching a steep descent with exposed limestone cliffs. Pre-installed ropes are available to assist hikers in navigating the more challenging sections. The path can be slippery, especially after rain, so sturdy footwear is recommended. Along the way, keep an eye out for the remnants of an ancient Chamorro village, offering a glimpse into the island's past.The highlight of the hike is Pagat Cave, featuring a crystal-clear freshwater pool perfect for a refreshing swim. Bring a waterproof flashlight to explore the cave's depths and admire the unique rock formations. Beyond the cave, the trail leads to the coastline with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and a natural stone arch.
