Tumon Bay, located on the northwest coast of Guam, is the island's premier tourist destination, attracting visitors with its picturesque scenery and diverse attractions. The bay stretches for approximately two miles, bounded by Two Lovers Point to the north and Ypao Point to the south.
The bay's history is rich and varied. Tumon Bay or Agana Bay are the most likely locations that Ferdinand Magellan dropped anchor on March 6, 1521, marking Guam's first encounter with Europeans. It was also the site where Jesuit missionary Diego Luis de San Vitores and Pedro Calungsod were killed in 1672, an event that triggered the Spanish-Chamorro Wars. During World War II, Tumon Bay was fortified by the Japanese.
Today, Tumon Bay is a vibrant hub of activity. Visitors can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, diving, and sunbathing on the pristine beach. The bay's coral reefs teem with colorful fish and marine life, making it a popular spot for underwater exploration. Numerous hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment venues line the shore, offering a wide range of options for visitors. Tumon is sometimes referred to as a “mini-Waikiki”.

Public Transport
From Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport, you can take the Guam Regional Transit Authority (GRTA) bus to Tumon. The bus ride takes approximately 25 minutes and costs $2 - $5. Look for bus routes that go towards Tumon, specifically Routes 1 and 2. The bus will drop you off near the Tumon area, from where you can easily walk to the beach.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available at Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport. A taxi ride to Tumon Bay typically costs around $28 and takes approximately 17 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxi services like Aska Taxi and Ava Taxi are also available. Keep in mind that fares may vary based on the time of day and traffic conditions.
Walking
If you are already in the Tumon area, walking to Tumon Bay is a convenient option. From most hotels and shopping centers in Tumon, the beach is easily accessible on foot. Follow the signs towards the beach, and you'll reach the shoreline in a matter of minutes.
