Getting There

  • Car

    From Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport, take Route 10A to Marine Corps Drive (Route 1). Turn left and proceed approximately 5 miles, then turn left onto Route 6. Travel approximately 4 miles; the overlook will be on the right. Parking is free.

  • Public Transport

    From the airport, take a bus towards Hagatna. From Hagatna, transfer to a bus that heads towards Maina. Get off at the bus stop nearest to Route 6 and walk approximately 0.5 miles along Route 6 to reach the overlook. Bus fare is around $1.00 per ride, or $3.00 for a day pass.

Asan Bay Overlook, completed in 1994, serves as a poignant memorial to the lives lost and the atrocities endured during World War II on Guam. The overlook provides visitors with panoramic views of the seaside villages of Asan and Piti, offering an aerial perspective of the landing beaches where U.S. Marines fought during the Battle of Guam. The park features landscaped walkways, a viewing platform adorned with historical photos, and bronze sculptures that depict the events that transpired on Guam during the Japanese occupation from 1941 to 1944, and the subsequent Battle of Guam in 1944. The Memorial Wall stands as a solemn tribute, etched with the names of 1,880 U.S. servicemen who died on Guam, along with 1,170 Guamanians who perished and the 14,721 who suffered atrocities during the war. Asan Bay Overlook offers a serene and reverent space for reflection, allowing visitors to remember the fallen and contemplate the battlefields below. The site is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing free parking and paved walkways to the viewpoints and memorial wall. While there are no restrooms on site, the nearby Asan Beach Unit offers these facilities.
