Discover more about Talo'fo'fo' Falls

Talo'fo'fo' Falls is one of Guam's most visited waterfalls, offering a unique experience that combines natural beauty with historical significance. The falls are located within the Talo'fo'fo' Falls Resort Park, a privately owned area that provides various amenities and attractions. The area's history is rich, with the original pre-Spanish inhabitants settling along the Talo'fo'fo' and Ugum rivers. Artifacts found in the Talo'fo'fo' Caves suggest they were used as typhoon shelters. The village name possibly originates from the Chamorro phrase “entalo' i fe'fo',” meaning 'between the cliffs,' or from 'fo'fo',' meaning 'bubbling spring'. During World War II, Talo'fo'fo' Bay served as a landing point for Japanese forces in 1941. Later, the area became significant when Sgt. Shoichi Yokoi, a Japanese soldier, was discovered in the jungles near the falls in 1972, after hiding for 28 years. A recreation of Yokoi's cave can be found at the Resort Park. Today, visitors can enjoy a cable car ride down to the waterfall, offering stunning aerial views. Bridges allow you to walk over and enjoy the water without getting wet. The park also features a Guam historical museum, gift shop, observation tower and other attractions.
