If you are driving from the town of Panajachel, take the CA-1 highway east towards Solola. Continue on CA-1 for about 60 km until you reach the town of Chimaltenango. From Chimaltenango, take the CA-9 highway towards Guatemala City but turn off towards San Martín Jilotepeque. Follow the road signs toward Chelemhá. After approximately 30 km, you will find signs for Reserva Chelemhá. There is no entry fee, but make sure to fill up on gas and have some cash for any local purchases.

To reach Reserva Chelemhá by public transport, first take a bus from Panajachel to Chimaltenango. Buses depart frequently and the fare is approximately 20 GTQ. Once in Chimaltenango, transfer to a bus heading towards San Martín Jilotepeque. It is advisable to ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Chelemhá. From there, you may need to hire a local taxi, which can cost around 50-100 GTQ, depending on the distance.
