Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Huehuetenango, head southwest on Calle del Cementerio towards 5a Avenida. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach the intersection with the Panamerican Highway (CA-1). Turn right onto the Panamerican Highway and drive for approximately 5 km. Look for signs indicating a left turn towards El Jocotal and follow the road for another 3 km until you reach the mirador. There is a parking area available near the entrance.

    In Huehuetenango, find the local bus terminal (Terminal de Buses) where you can catch a bus heading towards San Juan Atitlán. Board the bus and inform the driver that you want to get off at the turnoff for El Jocotal. This should cost around 10-15 Quetzales.
