Plaza De Armas: Heart of Huehuetenango

Plaza De Armas, also known as Parque Central, is the historical and cultural heart of Huehuetenango. Founded in 1524 by Gonzalo de Alvarado, the plaza has been a central gathering place for centuries. Originally used as a marketplace by merchants in the 17th century, today it serves as a serene park, reflecting the city's rich heritage.
