Car
If you're traveling by car from the Ixil Triangle, start by heading towards the town of Chajul. From Chajul, take the road to Nebaj, which will lead you to the main highway CA-1. Continue on CA-1 heading northwest until you reach the town of Flores. From Flores, follow the signs to Tikal National Park. The entrance is approximately a 30-minute drive from Flores. Once inside the park, drive to the parking area near the visitor center. Templo IV is a 30-minute hike from the visitor center, follow the marked trails.
Public Transportation
To reach Templo IV using public transportation, first take a bus from Ixil Triangle (from towns such as Chajul or Nebaj) to Flores. Buses are available throughout the day and the trip usually takes about 3-4 hours. Once you arrive in Flores, look for shuttle services or buses that head directly to Tikal National Park. The ride from Flores to Tikal takes about 30 minutes. After entering the park, you will need to pay an entry fee (approximately Q150 for foreign tourists). From the visitor center, it's a 30-minute walk to Templo IV, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
