Car
If you are driving from the center of Semuc Champey, head east on the main road (CA-9) towards the village of Lanquín. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Semuc Champey. Follow the signs and turn onto the access road leading to the park entrance. The entrance is located at coordinates G2PV+HW, Chicanutz. Be aware that there is an entrance fee of around 50 Q (Guatemalan Quetzals) per person to enter the park. Parking is available near the entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Monumento Natural Semuc Champey using public transportation, you can take a shuttle or minibus from Lanquín to Semuc Champey. These typically leave from the main square in Lanquín and operate regularly throughout the day. The cost is around 25 Q per person for the short ride. Once you arrive at the entrance of Semuc Champey, you will need to pay the entrance fee of around 50 Q. From there, follow the marked trails to reach the various pools and natural formations in the park.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Semuc Champey and prefer to walk, simply head towards the entrance of Monumento Natural Semuc Champey, which is about a 20-30 minute walk from the main accommodations in Semuc Champey. Follow the main dirt road that leads to the park entrance. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven. Remember to bring water and snacks, as there are limited facilities inside the park.
