The museum showcases the archeology, history, and ethnography of the region. The exhibits feature historical tools, old buildings, and heavy machinery that were once used to produce sugar, wine, and liquor. One of the highlights is the Pelton wheel, a seven-meter diameter piece of machinery of English origin. The museum also displays an archeological piece that provides evidence of the beginning of Mayan writing. Visitors can also learn about the first group of slaves that arrived in San Jerónimo from Guinea in the late 16th century. The museum also highlights the colonial architecture.
