  • Public Transport

    From Guatemala City, take a bus to Salamá. Buses to Salamá depart from the Monja Blanca station. From Salamá, take a bus towards Chilascó; these leave every half hour. The bus will drop you off at the Chilascó junction. From the junction, take a microbus to Chilascó. Once in Chilascó, a tuk-tuk or a 5km walk will take you to the entrance of Salto de Chilascó. Bus fare from Cobán to Chilascó is approximately Q15-Q20. Microbus from the junction to Chilascó is approximately Q10.

    From Guatemala City, drive on CA-14 highway towards Cobán. At kilometer 144 or 145, turn right onto the road leading to Chilascó (there is a sign for Salto de Chilascó). Continue on this 12-kilometer dirt road to reach San Rafael Chilascó. From there, drive approximately 2 kilometers to the parking lot near the trailhead. Be prepared for unpaved roads. Parking is available near the trailhead.
