If you are driving from central Bafatá, head southwest on the main road (N1) towards Bissau. The journey takes approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. Once you reach Bissau, follow the signs towards the city center and look for Praça dos Martires near the center of the city. The coordinates are approximately 11.8569° N, 15.5807° W, which you can enter into your GPS for precise navigation.
Public Transportation
To reach Praça dos Martires using public transport, take a shared taxi (called 'almendras') from Bafatá to Bissau. The shared taxi will cost around 1,500 CFA Francs (~$2.50) and the journey takes about 3 to 4 hours. Upon arrival in Bissau, you can either take another shared taxi or walk to Praça dos Martires. If you choose to walk, head towards the city center and follow the directions to the square. It should take about 20 minutes on foot from the taxi drop-off point.
