Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the center of Kindia. Take the N1 road heading west towards Conakry. After approximately 45 kilometers, you will reach the town of Kamsar. From Kamsar, look for signs or ask locals about the ferry terminal to L'île de Roume. The ferry departs several times a day, and the fare is typically around 5,000 GNF (Guinean Francs) per person. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes.
Public Transportation
To reach L'île de Roume using public transportation, first, find a shared taxi or minibus (known locally as 'clandos') from the center of Kindia heading towards Conakry. Once you arrive in Conakry, you will need to take another shared taxi to the ferry terminal. The total cost for this leg of the journey is approximately 10,000 GNF. After reaching the ferry terminal, purchase your ferry ticket to L'île de Roume (around 5,000 GNF). The ferry ride lasts about 30 minutes.
