Walking
From the center of Hinche, head west on Avenue des Drapeaux towards Rue de l'Intendance. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue des Martyrs. Here, you can find local guides or moto-taxis that can take you closer to the Citadel. If you prefer walking, follow Avenue des Martyrs north. After about 2 kilometers, you will reach the entrance of the Citadel road. Follow the signs leading to Laferriere Citadel, which is approximately 4 kilometers uphill from this point. The hike is steep, so be prepared and take your time.

Moto-Taxi
From any central location in Hinche, look for a moto-taxi (motorcycle taxi) stand. Tell the driver you want to go to Laferriere Citadel (you can say 'Citadelle Laferrière'). The ride will take you closer to the Citadel entrance. Once you arrive at the base, you will need to continue on foot for about 4 kilometers up the hill to reach the Citadel itself. Make sure to agree on a fare before you start your ride.
