    If you are traveling by car, start by heading south from any location in Nord-Est towards Cap-Haïtien on Route Nationale #1. This road is well-marked and will take you through scenic landscapes. After approximately 2 hours, you will reach Cap-Haïtien. From there, continue west on Route Nationale #1 for about 1 hour until you reach the border with the Dominican Republic. Make sure to have your passport ready for crossing. Once in the Dominican Republic, follow the signs towards Monte Cristi, which is about 1 hour away. The park entrance is located at Q7JW+WRG, Monte Cristi. Note that you may incur a small toll fee at the border.

  • Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, take a tap-tap (local shared taxi) from your location in Nord-Est to Cap-Haïtien. This journey will take about 2 hours. Once in Cap-Haïtien, look for a bus or shared taxi heading towards Monte Cristi. This part of the journey may take around 2 to 3 hours. Ensure you confirm the fare with the driver before departing. Upon arriving in Monte Cristi, you can hire a local taxi to take you directly to Monte Cristi National Park. The park is about a 15-minute drive from the town. Be prepared for additional local transportation fees.
