The final stretch involves a steep ascent to the citadel, and you may need to park your car at a designated area before walking up to the main entrance. Be prepared for a short hike, as the citadel is located at a high altitude. Parking fees might apply, so check for signage once you arrive.

Public Transportation

To reach Laferriere Citadel using public transportation, you can catch a 'tap-tap' (shared taxi) from Cap-Haïtien to Milot. The fare is usually around 50 HTG. Once you reach Milot, you can find another tap-tap or a motorcycle taxi that can take you to Vaseux.
