    If you are traveling by car, start from the city center of Les Cayes in Sud. Take Route Nationale #2 heading north toward Jérémie. After approximately 30 kilometers, you'll reach the town of Aux Cayes. Continue on the same road for another 60 kilometers until you reach the port town of Basse-Terre. Here, you can find local parking options near the port. From the parking area, head to the ferry terminal where you can purchase tickets to Tortuga. The ferry ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.

    For those using public transportation, begin your journey at the main bus station in Les Cayes. Look for a 'tap-tap' (shared taxi) heading toward Jérémie. The fare is generally around 100 HTG (Haitian Gourdes). Once you arrive in Aux Cayes, transfer to another tap-tap or local bus heading to Basse-Terre. The fare for this segment is approximately 150 HTG. Upon arrival in Basse-Terre, make your way to the ferry terminal.
