Getting There

    If you are traveling by car, start from the main town center of La Esperanza, Lempira. Head south on the CA-4 highway towards the town of Gracias. After approximately 1 hour, take the exit toward La Entrada and merge onto CA-4. Continue driving for about 2 hours until you reach the town of Copan Ruinas. Once you arrive in Copan, follow the signs to Parque Central. Macaw Mountain Bird Park is located 2 kilometers north of Parque Central. Look for the signs indicating the entrance to the park.

  • Public Transportation

    For public transportation, take a bus from La Esperanza to Copan Ruinas. The buses leave regularly from the main terminal and the trip takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Copan Ruinas, you can take a taxi to Macaw Mountain Bird Park, which is about 2 kilometers north of the main square. Taxis are readily available and should cost around 50-100 Lempira (about $2-4 USD). Alternatively, you can walk if you prefer; just follow the signs north from the central park.
