Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Ocotepeque. Head west on the CA-4 highway towards La Labor. Continue on this highway for approximately 15 kilometers (about 20 minutes). Look for the signs directing you to La Labor. Once in La Labor, keep an eye out for the CXX6 road. Turn onto CXX6 and follow the road for about 5 kilometers. You will see signs indicating the direction to Cascada Llano Largo. The waterfall is located approximately 1 kilometer off the main road, and you may need to park your car nearby and walk down a path to reach the waterfall.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Ocotepeque to La Labor. Buses frequently depart from the main bus terminal in Ocotepeque. The fare is usually around 20 Lempiras (less than $1 USD). Once you arrive in La Labor, you can ask locals for directions to Cascada Llano Largo or look for signs. You may need to hire a local taxi or take a motorcycle taxi (also known as 'moto-taxi') to reach the waterfall, which should cost around 50-100 Lempiras (approximately $2-4 USD) for the short ride to the trailhead.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy hiking, if you are already in La Labor, you can walk to Cascada Llano Largo. From the town center, head towards CXX6 road. It is about a 5-kilometer walk, which will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. The route is scenic, passing through local farmland and alongside the natural landscape. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water. Once you reach the main access path leading to the waterfall, you will need to walk an additional kilometer down the path to reach the cascading waters.
