If you are in the central area of Puerto Cortés, start by heading towards the waterfront along the Calle 1. Walk north until you reach the intersection with Calle 4. Turn left onto Calle 4 and continue walking until you reach the bus terminal, which is a five-minute walk. From the bus terminal, look for a bus heading to Omoa. The fare is usually around 20-30 Lempiras. The bus ride to Omoa takes approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Omoa, disembark at the main terminal. From there, head west along the main road (Carretera CA-9). Follow the road signs towards Fortaleza de San Fernando. The fortress is located at the address QXH5+8XW, Omoa, Cortés, which is about a 15-minute walk from the bus terminal.

Local Transportation (Taxi)
From any location in Puerto Cortés, you can take a local taxi to the bus terminal. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 50-100 Lempiras. Once at the bus terminal, board a bus to Omoa, which should cost about 20-30 Lempiras and take 30-40 minutes. After arriving in Omoa, you can either walk for about 15 minutes to reach Fortaleza de San Fernando, or you can hire a local taxi from the Omoa bus terminal to the fortress for a small additional fee.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Puerto Cortés. Head north along the waterfront and follow the directions to the bus terminal. From there, you can continue cycling on Carretera CA-9 towards Omoa. The ride is approximately 15 km and should take about 1 hour depending on your pace. Once you reach Omoa, you can follow the signs to Fortaleza de San Fernando. It is recommended to wear a helmet and stay aware of traffic along the road.
