Car
If you are traveling by car from Tela, head west on CA-13 towards La Ceiba. Continue on CA-13 for approximately 70 kilometers (about 1 hour and 20 minutes). Look for signs indicating the turnoff for Copán Ruinas. Take the exit onto CA-11 and follow the road for about 11 kilometers until you reach Copán Ruinas. Once in Copán, drive 2 kilometers north from the central park to reach Macaw Mountain Bird Park, which will be on your left.
Public Transportation
To reach Macaw Mountain Bird Park using public transportation, find a bus terminal in Tela that offers services to Copán Ruinas. Buses typically leave throughout the day; the journey takes about 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival in Copán Ruinas, you can either take a taxi or walk 2 kilometers north from the central park to reach the bird park. Taxi fares within Copán Ruinas are generally reasonable, costing around 50-100 Lempira.
