From the nearest town, let’s say Szob, take Route 12 towards Visegrád. Continue on this road for about 25 km until you reach the signs for Kálvária-hegy. There is parking available near the entrance to the hiking trails leading up to Kálvária-hegy.

For public transportation, take a train from Budapest to Vác. From Vác, you can catch a local bus to Visegrád. The bus station is located near the train station. Once in Visegrád, you will need to hike approximately 4 km to reach Kálvária-hegy. Follow the marked trails, which are well-signposted, leading you through the scenic landscapes of the Börzsöny Mountains.

If you are already in the Börzsöny Mountains and prefer hiking, you can access Kálvária-hegy from various trails. One popular route starts from the village of Nagymaros. Begin at the Nagymaros train station, follow the blue hiking signs, and hike approximately 6 km uphill to reach Kálvária-hegy. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry enough water, as the trail can be steep in parts.
