Car
If you are driving, head towards Szokolya. From Budapest, take the M2 highway towards Váci Út, then follow signs for Route 2. Continue on Route 2 until you reach Szokolya. Once in Szokolya, follow the signs for Királyrét. The Lynx House and Visitor Center is located at Királyrét, 2624 Szokolya. There is a parking area available near the center. Note: Be prepared for possible parking fees, depending on the season.
Public Transportation
To reach the Lynx House and Visitor Center via public transportation, take a train from Budapest to the town of Vác. From Vác, transfer to a bus heading towards Szokolya. The bus stop you will need is called 'Szokolya, Iskola'. Once you arrive at Szokolya, walk towards Királyrét, which is approximately a 20-30 minute walk. Follow the signs for the Visitor Center. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may vary, especially on weekends.
Bike
For the more adventurous, biking from Szokolya to Királyrét is a scenic option. Rent a bike in Szokolya and follow the marked biking trails towards Királyrét. It's a pleasant ride through the mountains, approximately 8 km long. Ensure you have a good map or GPS to navigate the trail.
