Getting There

  • Public Transport (Metro)

    To reach the George Washington Statue, start by making your way to the nearest Metro station. If you are near Deák Ferenc tér, take Metro Line 1 (the yellow line) towards Mexikói út. Get off at the next stop, which is Oktogon. From Oktogon, switch to Metro Line 2 (the red line) and head towards Déli pályaudvar. Alight at the next stop, which is Széll Kálmán tér. Once you exit the station, head towards the western side of Széll Kálmán tér and take bus 29 from the bus stop named 'Széll Kálmán tér M'. Ride the bus for about 5 stops until you arrive at 'Hunyadi János utca' stop. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to the statue. Head southeast on Hunyadi János utca and turn left onto Böszörményi út. Continue until you reach the park where the statue is located.

  • Walking

    If you are located near the city center, you can also walk to the George Washington Statue. Start from the iconic Heroes' Square (Hősök tere). Head southwest towards Andrássy Avenue and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Böszörményi út. Turn right onto Böszörményi út and continue straight. After about a 15-minute walk, you will arrive at the park where the statue is located. The statue is situated in a small green area, so keep an eye out for the surrounding trees and benches.

    If you prefer taking the tram, make your way to a tram stop for tram number 4 or 6. For example, if you are at Nyugati pályaudvar, board tram 4 or 6 towards Széll Kálmán tér.
