Getting There

  • Public Transport - Metro

    Start at Deák Ferenc tér, which is a central metro hub in Budapest. Take Metro Line 1 (the yellow line) towards Vörösmarty tér. Get off at the first stop, which is Vörösmarty tér. From there, walk to the nearby tram stop and board Tram 2 in the direction of Jászai Mari tér. Ride the tram for about 15 minutes. Get off at the Jászai Mari tér stop. Once you exit the tram, head southwest towards the Danube River, then turn left and walk along the riverbank until you reach the footbridge leading to Margaret Island. Cross the bridge and follow the path on the island to the Japanese Garden located at Hajós Alfréd Street 1138.

    If you are near the Chain Bridge, walk to the tram stop at Széchenyi István tér. Take Tram 2 in the direction of Jászai Mari tér. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the Jászai Mari tér stop. From there, proceed as described above by walking southwest towards the Danube River and crossing the footbridge to Margaret Island. Once on the island, follow the walking paths to reach the Japanese Garden at Hajós Alfréd Street 1138.

Look for signs pointing to the Japanese Garden, which is located at Hajós Alfréd Street 1138.
