Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Inner City, start by heading towards the nearest metro station, which could be Deák Ferenc tér (Line 1, 2, 3). From there, take the M2 (red line) towards Örs vezér tere. Get off at the next stop, Astoria. Exit the station and walk along Rákóczi út until you reach Múzeum körút. Turn left onto Múzeum körút, and you will find the Hungarian National Museum at Múzeum krt. 14-16. The walk from Astoria should take about 10 minutes.

  • Tram

    From the Inner City, you can also take tram number 47 or 49. Look for a tram stop along the route and board the tram heading towards either Üllői út or Kelenföld. Make sure to get off at the Rákóczi tér stop. From there, walk towards Múzeum körút and turn right. The Hungarian National Museum will be on your left after a short 5-minute walk.

    Another option is to take bus number 9 from a nearby bus stop in the Inner City. Ride the bus until you reach the Múzeum körút stop. Upon exiting, walk a short distance along Múzeum körút, and you will see the Hungarian National Museum at Múzeum krt. 14-16 ahead of you.
