Public Transport

Start your journey at any metro station in Budapest. If you're near Deák Ferenc tér, take Metro Line 3 (the blue line) towards Újpest-Központ. Get off at the next stop, which is Kálvin tér. At Kálvin tér, transfer to Tram Line 47 or 49. Take the tram towards the direction of the 'Kelenföld vasútállomás' (Kelenföld railway station). Get off at the 'Gellért tér' stop. From Gellért tér, walk up the hill along the path that leads to Gellért Hill. You will see signs directing you to the hill and the Citadel.

Walking

If you are already near the Danube River, you can walk to Gellért Hill. Head towards the Gellért Hotel located at Gellért tér, and from there, follow the path that leads directly to the hill. The path is steep but well-maintained, and there are several lookout points along the way where you can stop to take pictures of the stunning views of Budapest.

Bus

If you're near the city center, you can take Bus 27 from Széll Kálmán tér towards 'Gellért tér'. After a short ride, get off at the 'Gellért tér' stop. From the bus stop, walk up the path leading to Gellért Hill, which is accessible and well-marked.
