Car
If you're driving, start from the city of Tata, which is the closest urban center to the Gerecsei Landscape Protection Area. From Tata, head southeast on Route 1. Follow signs for 'Gerecsei Tájvédelmi Körzet'. After approximately 10 km, you will arrive at the entrance of the protection area. Parking is available near the entrance, and it's usually free.
Public Transportation
To reach Gerecsei Landscape Protection Area via public transportation, take a train from Budapest to Tata, which typically takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Tata railway station, you can catch a local bus heading towards the Gerecsei area. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time as they may not run frequently. The bus will drop you off near the entrance of the protection area.
Bicycle
