Getting There

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From the Debrecen city center, head to the main bus terminal (Debreceni Autóbusz-állomás). Look for bus lines 25 or 25Y, which head towards the Hortobágy National Park area. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Hortobágy' stop. From there, follow the signs to the park entrance, which is about a 10-minute walk.

  • Walking

    If you are near the Great Church (Nagytemplom) in the city center, walk southeast toward Kossuth Lajos utca. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Sumen utca. Turn left onto Sumen utca, and continue walking for about 15 minutes until you reach Hortobágy National Park at Sumen u. 2, 4024. The park entrance will be on your right.

  • Bicycle Rental

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Debrecen. Head east from the city center, following the signs for the bike path that leads toward the Hortobágy National Park. The ride is approximately 8 kilometers and will take around 30-40 minutes. Follow the path until you arrive at the park entrance at Sumen u. 2, 4024.
