Getting There

  If you are driving from a location within Duna-Ipoly National Park, start by heading towards the closest major town, which is Szentendre. From Szentendre, take Route 11 south towards Budapest. Follow the signs for Budapest, and merge onto the M0 highway. Continue on M0, then take the exit for M3 toward Budapest. Once on M3, follow the signs toward the city center. As you approach the city, take the exit for 'Kálvin tér' to enter the downtown area. Continue to follow local signs for Kazinczy utca. The Sasz-Chevra Orthodox Grand Synagogue is located at Kazinczy utca 29-31, Budapest, which you can find easily using GPS navigation or by following the street signs.

  To reach the Sasz-Chevra Orthodox Grand Synagogue using public transportation, first make your way to the nearest bus or train station in Duna-Ipoly National Park, for example, the station in Szentendre. From Szentendre, take the HÉV suburban train towards Batthyány tér. Get off at Batthyány tér, and transfer to the M2 metro line (Red Line) at the Batthyány tér metro station. Ride the metro towards Örs vezér tere. Change at Deák Ferenc tér to the M1 metro line (Yellow Line) towards Vörösmarty tér. Get off at the Vörösmarty tér station. From there, it is about a 15-minute walk. Head southeast on Váci utca, turn right onto Károlyi Mihály utca, and then left onto Kazinczy utca. The synagogue will be on your right at Kazinczy utca 29-31.
