Getting There

• Car

  To reach the Hungarian State Opera by train, first, head to Debrecen Railway Station (Debrecen Vasútállomás) using local transport. From Debrecen, take a train to Budapest Keleti Railway Station (Budapest Keleti). The journey takes approximately 2 hours and tickets cost around 3,000 HUF. Upon arriving at Keleti Station, exit and take Metro Line 2 (Red Line) in the direction of Déli Pályaudvar. Change at the Deák Ferenc tér station to Metro Line 1 (Yellow Line) and travel to the Opera station. Exit the station, and the Hungarian State Opera will be a short walk away at Andrássy út 22.

  You can also take a long-distance bus from Hajdúság to Budapest. Start by taking a local bus or taxi to the nearest bus terminal in Debrecen. From there, catch a FlixBus or a similar service to Budapest. The journey typically takes about 3-4 hours and costs approximately 3,000 HUF. Upon arrival at the bus station in Budapest (such as Népliget), take Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) towards Újpest-Központ and change at Deák Ferenc tér to Line 1 (Yellow Line). Travel to the Opera station, and you will find the Hungarian State Opera just a short walk away.

  If convenience is a priority, consider taking a taxi or using a rideshare service from Hajdúság directly to the Hungarian State Opera.
