Getting there

Car

If you are driving, start from Gyöngyös city center. Head southeast on Rákóczi út towards Farkas út. Continue on Farkas út for approximately 3 kilometers. You will see signs for Sástó Lookout Tower (Sástó Kilátó). There is a parking area near the base of the tower. Please note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 300 HUF (approximately 1 EUR).

Public Transportation

For those using public transport, take a bus from Gyöngyös to Sástó. The bus line 5 or 6 typically serves this route. Make sure to check the current schedule as it may vary. Once you arrive at the Sástó stop, follow the signs leading you to the lookout tower, which is approximately a 15-minute walk uphill. The bus fare is around 500 HUF (approximately 1.5 EUR).

Walking

If you are already in the vicinity of Sástó Lake, you can walk to the Sástó Lookout Tower. From the lake, take the marked hiking trail that leads directly to the tower. The walk should take about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace and offers scenic views of the surrounding area.
