Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Mátra. Take Route 24 towards Miskolc. After approximately 30 kilometers, follow the signs to Lillafüred. Once in Lillafüred, continue on the main road until you reach the Szeleta-barlang, which is located near the entrance to the Lillafüred Nature Reserve. There is a small parking area available, which may charge a nominal fee.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a train from Budapest to Miskolc. From Miskolc train station, you can catch a bus (Bus 1 or Bus 2) heading towards Lillafüred. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Lillafüred stop. From there, follow the marked hiking trails that lead to Szeleta-barlang, approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
Walking
If you are already in Lillafüred, you can easily walk to Szeleta-barlang. Start from the main square in Lillafüred and take the marked hiking trail that leads to the cave. The walk is scenic but can be steep in some sections, so wear comfortable shoes. It should take you about 20-30 minutes to reach the cave entrance.
