Car
If you're driving from Northern Hungary, take the M3 motorway towards Budapest. As you approach the city, follow the signs for the city center. Continue on the M3 until it merges into the M1 motorway, then take the exit towards Buda, which will direct you to the Buda side of the Danube River. Once you cross the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, follow signs for 'Castle District' or 'Buda Castle'. You can park in one of the nearby parking garages, like the 'Clark Ádám Square' parking, which charges around 2,000 HUF per hour.
Public Transportation
From Northern Hungary, take a train from your nearest station to Budapest Keleti Railway Station. The train ride usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Keleti, transfer to the M2 metro line (red line) and get off at Deák Ferenc tér. From there, switch to the tram line 2 and get off at Clark Ádám tér. From Clark Ádám tér, you can walk up the hill to Buda Castle, which is about a 10-minute walk. Make sure to purchase a public transport ticket beforehand; a single ticket costs around 350 HUF.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route, you can book a taxi or use rideshare apps like Bolt or Uber. Simply input 'Buda Castle, Szent György tér, 1014 Budapest' as your destination. The cost from the city center should range between 1,500 HUF to 3,000 HUF depending on traffic conditions.
