Getting There

  • Car

    From Nyírség, head southwest on Route 4 towards Budapest. After approximately 2 hours of driving (around 200 km), merge onto Route 1 towards Budapest. Continue on this route until you reach the city. Follow the signs for 'Buda' to cross the Danube River. Once in Buda, follow the signs to the Castle District, where the Budapest History Museum / Castle Museum is located at Szent György tér 2, 1014. There is limited parking available nearby, and parking fees may apply.

  • Train

    Begin your journey at Nyírség train station. Take a train towards Budapest (usually via Szolnok or Debrecen). The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you arrive at Budapest's Keleti Railway Station, transfer to Metro Line 2 (Red Line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. Get off at the Déli Pályaudvar station. From there, take the tram number 61 or 56 to the Clark Ádám tér stop. Walk uphill for about 15 minutes to reach Szent György tér 2, where the museum is located.

  • Bus

    You can take a long-distance bus from Nyírség to Budapest. Check the bus schedules for companies such as FlixBus or Volánbusz. The bus ride will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. You will arrive at Budapest's Népliget Bus Station. From there, take Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) to the Deák Ferenc tér station. Transfer to Metro Line 2 (Red Line) towards Déli Pályaudvar. Get off at the Déli Pályaudvar station and then follow the same tram route as mentioned above (tram number 61 or 56 to Clark Ádám tér) to reach Szent György tér 2.
