Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the center of Kaposvár, take Road 61 towards the southwest. After approximately 20 km, turn left onto Road 6805. Continue for about 8 km until you reach Somogyvár. As you enter the village, follow the signs to 'Kupavárhegy' where the ruins are located. There is a parking area near the site. Note that there are no fees for parking.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach the Ruins of the Szent Egyed Abbey by public transport, start at the Kaposvár Train Station. Take a train towards Somogyvár (check the schedule beforehand as services may be limited), which will take approximately 30 minutes. Upon arriving at the Somogyvár station, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) or take a local taxi (around 2000 HUF) to reach the abbey ruins at Kupavárhegy.
