Public Transport
From Tatabanya, take the train from Tatabanya railway station to Budapest Déli Railway Station. The trains run frequently, so check the schedule for the next departure. Once you arrive at Budapest Déli, exit the station and walk to the nearby tram stop for Tram 61. Board the tram and ride it towards 'Szent Gellért tér'. Get off at the 'Szent Gellért tér' stop. From there, walk towards Szent Gellért rkp., and you will reach Gellért Hill Cave at Szent Gellért rkp. 1.
Walking
If you prefer to explore on foot, you can walk from a central location in Tatabanya to the Tatabanya railway station. Once you reach the station, follow the public transport instructions above to get to Budapest and then to Gellért Hill Cave. This option will take longer but gives you a chance to enjoy the local sights.
Bus
From Tatabanya, find the nearest bus stop and take a bus that goes to Budapest. Look for services that head towards 'Budapest, Népliget', which is a major bus terminal. From there, you can catch Metro Line 3 (Blue Line) towards 'Kőbánya-Kispest'. Get off at the 'Deák Ferenc tér' station and transfer to Metro Line 2 (Red Line) towards 'Déli Pályaudvar'. After getting off at 'Déli Pályaudvar', follow the Tram instructions provided above.
